Sara and Hannah have finished their college algebra class. They both got an A! They are enjoying a few days of freedom before they start back to a new year of studies at the end of the month. David continues to adjust to his new job and seems to be doing well, although this Aug. 22 will be his first birthday apart from friends or family. Pray for him that He will continue to put the Lord first in all he does.
I received the second 300 batch of Jan's book. They are going quickly. I have about a hundred left, but can order more if I ever need to. If you ordered one or more and don't receive them within a couple of weeks, please drop me an email to let me know. I am sending them by U.S. postal media mail, and that takes a few days longer than first class.
Going through our stuff reminds me how our life has been one of moving from place to place, with no real place to call home. My children also feel unsettled at times, wondering where we will be next year, longing for a place to settle down and stay. These were Martha's thoughts in another poem she wrote:
Meadows green painted gold by the sun
A cooling breeze, the day is done
A river flowing beside old oak trees
Scenes of a somewhere barely known to me
The breaking of waves, a gentle thunder
Places calling deep in my heart
A wistful longing that won’t depart
They fought the fight and won with glory
But before the chapter nears its end
Homeward bound does our hero send
Face fierce foes where danger excelled
Now I look at the journeys I’ve faced
The wearisome trials where time has raced
And homeward bound is where I long to be
Where there it may lay beyond the sea
It calls to me in a whispered song
An unknown peace where I belong

a blessing to hear about the tribe.
I lift a special prayer as the holiday season is upon us. I know the one year mark is near for Jan's transfer;, mom's too.
I'd like 2 or 3 copies of the book..will get back with you later on that.
Love and prayers
Alice
