Martha's Birthday

It is birthday season in the Moses family. Last month was David's. Next month is Sara's. Today is Martha's 14th. She fixed cinnamon roles for breakfast, then opened a few gifts, including one from Jan that she had bought for Martha last year. She also had a birthday card from Mom. Jan’s dad, Bill, is here this week to help Martha celebrate the special day. He will take her out to Red Lobster Inn for lunch.

Hannah has been officially accepted and admitted to Liberty University in Virginia for the fall semester of 2008. Along with her CLEP tests, she will take some distance learning courses this year through Liberty for college credit. School continues to roll along for Sara, Martha, and Jonathan.

I signed a contract on Friday with Hannibal Books to publish Jan’s book, An Uncommon Faith. They will edit the book and give it a wider distribution. It should be ready by December. However, I should have enough books on hand if anyone wishes to order some before then.

It seems every week we hear of people we know and love who are experiencing adversity, whether it be illnesses, financial difficulties, or torn relationships. While we grieve for our friends, it reminds us that “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19). How we long for that day when we will be forever released from this fallen world, and finally set free for eternity. What a glorious day that will be. Amen! Until that day, live for Jesus.
