It was Sunday - Christmas morning; time to open gifts. Having finished our traditional Christmas brunch that included delicious cinnamon rolls, we gathered in the living room of a large Airbnb house located along the banks of the Guadalupe River about 30 miles east of San Antonio. This was the 3rd day of our 5-day Moses family Christmas gathering.
Although we had drawn names, Christy (4 yrs. old) and Amy (2 yrs. old) got something from nearly everyone. Their eyes grew widest when they opened their mermaid castle gift from Dad and Mom. David continues to work on a project for the U.S. Dept. of Justice that tracks missing persons while Andrea fills her days with house management and supervising educational projects for Christy and Amy.
Sara got a hammock she can use during pleasant afternoons in the backyard of the little house she purchased 3 years ago. Sara is now in her 12th year as a digital designer in the Graphics Dept. of Neiman Marcus. We continue to rejoice at God’s work in Sara’s life this past year, which includes teaching 6th graders in our church Sunday school.
Nathaniel Kellogg celebrated his first Christmas with gifts he can’t yet appreciate. But Daniel and Hannah appreciate them along with their gifts to aid them in their new parenting responsibilities. Daniel has a new managerial training job at Inks State Park about 20 minutes NW of Marble Falls, TX. Hannah will return next week to her job managing the Saur-Beckman Farm at LBJ State Park, about 40 minutes SW of Marble Falls. They are hoping Daniel gets a State Park superintendent position in a couple of years that will allow Hannah to be a full-time stay-at-home mother.
Martha, our family tea connoisseur, received her favorite Oolong and Jasmine flavors. In addition to receiving book gifts, Philip gifted all of us by transforming a canoe he found into a makeshift sailboat that we used to navigate up and down the Guadalupe River outside our back door. Philip has finished his 3rd month as a graphic designer in the training department of our Inter-national Mission Board in Richmond. Martha is exploring options on how best to use her nursing and nutritional skills.
I had Jonathan’s name and I gave him a fancy marble-maze craft kit and a shower organizer caddie for the new rental house he moved into last week in south Ft. Worth, which is much closer to the rest of us. Jonathan is in his 3rd year working remotely for Raytheon Technologies – a major U.S. Defense Dept. contractor.
In addition to a warm blanket and book, both from Philip, the Lord gifted me with a good week of very little cancer symptoms. I led my family in evening Bible studies of understanding God’s glory and resting in His sovereignty. As my cancer continues to grow, this was likely my last Christmas on earth. But I look forward to an eternity of Christmases with my family in God’s heavenly home.

Thanks so much for your monthly letter- look forward to getting an update on you and the family. I know you are looking forward to your heavenly Home as we all are but know your family desires you to be with them longer. All is well with me. I have moved into the mother-in-law suite at David and Vicki's home. Wonderful move for me. Inside stairway up to their living area and outside entrance also. Older son Rob and Guyeth are about 2 hours away. He teaches at the McAffee Mercer Seminary and comes by for breakfast once a week when classes are in session. I have 5 grands, 5 great grands and to more "on the way." The Lord is good and greatly to be praised!!
What a beautiful family picture!!! I just see God’s faithfulness as I look at each and every face. Thank you for the update on everyone. Exciting things are happening for sure. I’m so thankful you continue to have great days. So thankful!! We love our Moses families!! We continue to pray for great days ahead. 💕
