The day after I turned 64, Nathaniel Kellogg made his
appearance into the world. Mommy Hannah,
with daddy Daniel by her side, labored long and hard until finally delivering
Nathaniel naturally at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 8.
A few days later we gathered around Nathaniel and sang, “Welcome to the
Family”. Each of us, including cousin
Christy, took turns holding this precious baby. Another Moses family fellowship is planned for Christmas weekend.
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is a term familiar to
Southern Baptists. I hope your church
participates in this annual offering that funds more than half the budget of our
International Mission Board. We have
3500 missionaries around the world announcing the gift of salvation to those
who don’t know the Lord, Jesus Christ. A
couple of weeks ago I was priviledged to meet Paul Chitwood, the president of
our IMB who spoke in our church. During the service the 4 minute video, "
A Life Given" was shown highlighting the 300+ IMB missionaries who gave their lives while serving overseas. At the end of the video, all their names are shown, including a very special name to me and my family, Jan Joness Moses 2007.

My cancer symptoms have increased a bit but are still very manageable. Seniors find it easy to complain about their latest ailments, and I guess I’m no different. In 2008 I was diagnosed with Fuchs Dystrophy, an eye disease that affects the cornea. This month it finally began to affect my vision, forcing me to read with magnifiers and limiting my driving ability. On the positive side, it increases my eagerness for heaven and, eventually, my new resurrected body.
Back in the early 60’s, singer Andy Williams popularized the holiday song, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” With a little imagination, it’s easy for me to close my eyes and envision a Norman Rockwell type world of brightly lit Christmas trees, one-horse open sleighs, round bellied snowmen, stockings over the fireplace, decorated windows of multi-colored lights, children dressed in holiday style, and nativity scenes to remind us of the reason for the season. I hope you make time this month to enjoy the magic of Christmas.

Yes, this is a wonderful time of the year. Last night I watched the lighting of the Christmas tree in New York. I did not care for the songs groups sang except for one who sang "O Holy Night." I miss those programs from yesteryear where Bing Crosby and those type singers sang the Christmas carols without so much fanfare. Don't mean to complain but love to hear Christmas carols without so much drama. Sorry some symptoms of your cancer have returned. I pray for you during this time. Know yours and my heavenly home await us. What more could we ask for!!! My family is fine. Older son Rob was here for breakfast on hiS way to the Mercer Seminary here in Atlanta. Not sure what subjects he teaches. I live in the basement of David and Vicki's home- wonderful for me. Inside stairs up to their home and my own outside entrance. Merry Christmas and love to you and our family. Jan Nash
